PromptSMS utilises National and International SMS gateway's to deliver messages. As such there a few things you need to be aware of; SMS is a store and forward technology and though messages are generally delivered within 5 to 10 seconds, it cannot be relied on for mission critical or instant messaging however .
Utilising twelve separate carriers, and continual monitoring of message queues, allows as to dynamically and automatically switch to the fastest, most reliable carrier at anytime, day or night. This ensures that we have multiple redundant routes for your messages to be delivered.
Once messages leave this site, they go to various carriers, where the messages are checked for content and their destination before being placed into a queue for delivery.
The messages are then forwarded onto the target mobile phone if it is available (eg switched on or in range). If the phone cannot be contacted the system will try and resend the SMS at intervals of 10 minutes until the message can be delivered.
